Which Rite Should You Choose?

How do you choose something you know nothing about? You just have to trust your intuition. There are about fifteen main Rites[1]. Even after twenty years of practice, almost no Freemason knows all the Rites. We discover one, maybe two and rarely three. There is no Masonic interest in studying them all. They serve as a support for our work. Studying your own Rite in depth is the work of many years, so there is no need to prepare for a Rite Competition.

We sometimes hear Brothers say that Sisters cannot work using certain Rites, because they are reserved for Brothers only. Why? So far, no one has been able to explain to us how a Sister is less qualified to practice certain Rites than others. We know the positive virtues of Rites, but from there to imagine that a certain Rite could transform into a witch or a sorceress any Sister who dared to transgress certain misogynous laws is a bit far-fetched. It seems to us that the Rites are universal and open to all, provided their essence is respected.
